Jason in Florida sent 52 Cubs cards that arrived on Monday. I’ll be sending out a package of Dallas Cowboys for him.
As I was flipping through this stack something stuck out. A Carlos Zambrano 2005 Bazooka. Why would a base card stick out? Look at the image! Big Z is batting. You could make a solid argument that Zambrano is among the best pitchers that could hit.
Greg Maddux wasn’t known for his hitting, but he sure could pitch. This 2006 Flair Showcase honors Maddux reaching his 3,000th strikeout that happened on July 26, 2005 as he whiffed Omar Vizquel.
My first 2018 Topps Update David Bote Rainbow foil.
What a sweet image of Javier Baez. Hopefully card companies will be using more images of Javy in the field opposed to a batting stance.
Alfonso Soriano was a huge pickup for the Cubs going into the 2007 season. I wouldn’t quite rank his Cubs career as a perfect 10, but this card commemorates his season in which he became the first major leaguer to eclipse 40 home runs (46), 40 doubles (43), and 40 stolen bases (41).
Thanks for the trade, Jason. I’ll be getting those Dallas Cowboys out soon!
