Friday Mailday: It Was a Good Day

Apologies to Ice Cube, as I steal his line, but Friday was a good day for Cubs fans. Kyle Hendricks pitched a gem over the Cardinals, and I received some sweet Cubs packages.

As I returned home from Chicago I had some mail from Friday to open, thanks to Courtney and Michael.

Courtney and I have made about four trades as we swap Nationals for Cubs. This package of 42 cards had a couple hits including a 2017 Allen & Ginter Jake Arrieta jersey relic that has a blue pinstripe.

On the day this package arrived, Kyle Hendricks was twirling a gem. Hendricks threw an 81-pitch complete game shutout over the Cardinals.

I was there, and what a game. It was fast! Here’s a nice Hendricks hit from 2017 Donruss. It’s a Dominator Insert numbered 202/249.

Some Gypsy Queen from 2019. This is a product I haven’t bought any. Usually I grab a couple blasters of every product, but have not done so in 2019. Javy Baez!

On the top of the box Michael sent was an instant hit. Marlon Byrd 2012 Allen & Ginter framed jersey relic with a pinstripe. These Allen & Ginter framed relics are beauty’s.

Another hit inside. My first Kosuke Fukudome Relic. This may also be my first relic from Topps Lineage. The card is a little smaller than the standard size card.

Even some vintage thrown in. Lindy McDaniel 1964 Topps.

A couple sweet rookie cards. My favorite player: Javier Baez. His 2015 Topps rookie card.

Kris Bryant’s first Bowman card from 2014.

The mailday also included an eBay purchase from the recent $3 coupon. On occasion eBay will put out a code for $3 off any item priced above $3 (shipping price does not count). I found this Topps Throwback Thursday National League MVP Contenders Javier Baez/Christian Yelich for $3.25 shipped. Using the code, I picked it up for a quarter!

During my travels I stopped to find Bowman. Had some luck, and even found a couple blasters of 2018 Topps Update. In all, I pulled 20 Cubs cards.
