Christmas in July – New Additions from 2019

Three packages were in my mailbox in time for the 4th of July. One box was a surprise from Big Shep! The other boxes from Tom in New York and Thomas in Alabama are also repeat senders.

Thomas sent 204 Cubs cards that included a 2019 Stadium Club Ryne Sandberg. Willie McGee makes a cameo on this card. It’s the first Stadium Club card from 2019 in my collection.

Another new addition is from 2014. Do you remember that season, Cubs fans? Probably not as we were focusing on the Tennessee Smokies and Iowa Cubs. Here’s a Topps Gold Clayton Richard.

From 2016 Topps it’s a vintage parallel Miguel Montero numbered 30/99.

Tom in New York sent a third package to me. I’m working on getting him something in return as he collects stamps and coin embedded coins. I’ll be shopping for him at The National. Tom always sends quite a few new cards for my Cubs collection. Like this Javier Baez from 2015 Donruss Elite numbered 8/91.

Topps inserted some wacky stickers in 2016, and I don’t have too many of these. In fact, it’s the first I have seen of the Draft Lottery sticker.

A numbered Kris Bryant from 2017 Donruss. A flashy looking card numbered 158/349.

Another sweet Donruss card. An Addison Russell jersey relic.

Rediscover Topps! I now love these junk era cards stamped with Rediscover Topps. Thad Bosley from 1986 Topps and it’s a bronze foil stamp. Bronze was the most common stamping. There are also gold, silver, and red.

My last package had my first 2019 Stadium Club. Tom’s box brings me my first 2019 Topps Series 2! I love the 1984 Johnny Field rookie Insert.

A couple of snowflake parallels from the 2016 Topps Holiday of Albert Almora and Jason Hayward. Christmas in July!

Speaking of Christmas in July with Topps Holiday Snowflake parallels. Big Shep had one in his box. Anthony Rizzo from the 2018 Topps Holiday set.

By the way, Big Shep is the host of the About the Cards podcast. It’s a must listen for collectors. Also, check out the episode featuring the One Million Cubs Project.

Big Shep also runs TBS Sports Cards and has cards on eBay and Sportlots with a really sweet business card.

His box also included a 2008 Bowman Chrome rookie Refractor of Kosuke Fukudome.

These 1980’s Baseball Greats sets are so underrated. I think this green-bordered Set is my favorite.

July is also Allen & Ginter month. Can’t wait! Here’s a 2018 Allen & Ginter Mini A&G back of Ernie Banks.

And a 2018 Allen & Ginter mini black border Willson Contreras.

Thanks for the trades! I’ll be getting return packages out soon.
