PWE Maildays Include Topps Utz and a Javier Baez 1st Bowman

Maildays mean a lot more these days. The COVID19 “Shelter In Place” order for Wisconsin has been in effect for a couple weeks. Today, April 16, our governor has extended the order to May 26. It’s something I fully expected to happen because of the Memorial Day holiday weekend. As soon as the order is lifted, everyone is going to go out. But, even expecting it to happen does not make me feel any better when it was announced six weeks in advance.

While I am bummed that I’ll be sheltered in place, I’ll try to stay positive and use it to scale up my eBay Store, continue to organize my Cubs collection and keep trading. This mailday put a smile on my face, because a pretty cool small lot of Cubs baseball cards came from @FIFTYONE on Twitter as a thank you for my plain white envelope (PWE) safe shipping video tutorial. A Javier Baez 2011 1st Bowman was included. This was one of the first cards that reignited my love for Cubs baseball cards. When I went to work at Western Illinois University in 2011, I had summers with little to do, so I worked for the Peoria Chiefs in 2012. Baez was launching moonshots in batting practice, and I was watching every pitch. Also included in this mailday was a Nico Hoerner, and a couple Albert Almora cards. By the way, today is Almora’s birthday.

The other envelope included a 2020 Topps Utz Kyle Schwarber card. Thanks to Jason Dean Martin in Pennsylvania for sending this needed card my way. Very cool design on this year’s Utz cards.

More mailday postings to come, and with these five Cubs cards my total count sits at 431,523.
